it’s not about the fact that it’s commercial, thought it sells.
And, if everyone can be an artists even the bad men can.
It’s really not about the fact that art should tell a story, we all got one, ¿don’t we?
¿Can violence be art?
And, ¿when an artist is known for their violence and/or their complicity is it even worth pointing out?
I’m not the judge, I just hold the table.
Spread it open like a book that you can read if you got both hands on it.
Moving my fingers through the pages, making sure I’m holding it open from the center.
If it’s not about the skill, or the talent, or the craft,
¿what makes an artist one?
Unable to dispute the truth that we can all be what we want.
Art is the giver of life.
Life is inalienable.
I’m asking not to dictate who gets to dream freely and create a world they want to live in.
Cuz it’s not about a label, and it’s not about the name, and the DJs that fill venues sometimes go unnoticed at private events.
The painters that blend culture with sociopolitical thought, don’t always get seen as what they are.
I guess, ¿who really does?
¿Am I mad for seeing incredible souls study their art and polish their work, and then others do it for the hype of vulture life, getting upset and then wanting to dictate who is doing it right?
It’s really not about the number of copies and the hoarding of power.
How many bodies it moves around the room.
Stiff bodies in a packed room, selected few overflowing a dance floor.
It’s not even about how many people will read what I write.
Sometimes it’s about how many people don’t get my words, gatekeeper border-lining academic bourgeois society.
Painting like that, making music like that.
Divination as a tool to get everybody on track.
humanity and art.
I guess, to me, if it’s not moving it’s not giving; But to move, one must intentionally and consciously carry a vision for the world.
The population that follows the work.
If it’s not communal discourse, it’s hidden agenda.
So, ¿what is it about?
As the light travels and the energy carries the performance-
I like to be transported through awareness states.
Not a fan of when they can’t.
¿Is that artistry?
You don’t need to justify your breath, and that’s not what I’m asking.
Perhaps, I want architecture that matches my heart.
When art isn’t connecting me, I fault it, it’s fine.
It’s not about that.
I won’t demand art and creative spaces that bring me closer to love
But then, what¿?
All About Love, hooks, bell… there is something to learn about the way we think we care.
If art is not about a consciousness shift, if it’s not about an inner experience or outer awareness, if it’s not about the deep roots of what they mean.
¿Is it the hustle and the networking?
How moldable you can be, and how much pull on the masses you really can exercise.
¿Is it that?
Ethics aren’t a requirement to become an artist, morality isn’t out of the box; A free world, holding free agents who are capable of building their own estate.
Simone Weil and the need for roots, the power of communal ownership.
The dance floor is my home and it’s not mine to keep guests off of.
The arts and the creative and the mystical places, hold me like the womb, but I don’t dictate rules.
So if it’s not about any theory that I’ve got.
And art is infinite, but artists are full of our own limitations and faults…
Then, it’s not rlly abt dat.
Then what is it though?
If artists who go to european cities, and fill up latin american streets, and get inspired abroad, and thrive in the asian world… Taking from Africa…
If it’s not about the credits and the big names and the undead legends…
I am interested, let’s find out, ¿what gives an artist the right?
¿How do we qualify them?
Here’s my contradiction.
Education valued and learning at a high remark, it’s not about the tags or the numbers and it’s not about the redefined language.
The line… the line I can’t draw.
If we can all be artists, and it’s not because of a PhD…
Then, it’s not about any of it.
Playing across the world, museums with selected lore, bodies that paid for entries…
It’s not rlly abt anything.
The feeling and the pull, ¿what are you drawn to?
